Samuel GenocchioWriter Producer DirectorBioBorn in Melbourne, raised in Sydney, Samuel Genocchio's professional career began when he started writing television drama in the mid-nineties for the well known soap opera 'Neighbours'. In that time he has freelanced for almost the entire spectrum of the entertainment business, from director, writer, producer, working in film, television, theatre and events. He was Sydney Fringe Festival Co-ordinator for two years, PVVF Festival director for two years, made five short films winning a bunch of awards, wrote feature articles as a journalist, worked in production on films such as Mission Impossible 2 and Moulin Rouge, made video clips, documentaries, and corporate advertising as a copywriter and director, primarily for the production companies Flicks Australia and Chief Entertainment www.flicks.net.au www.chiefentertainment.com.au Sam is also the co-founder of Short and Sweet, the largest short play festival in the world and for a long time was heavily involved in theatre productions for Sydney's thriving independent scene. The majority of his recent work however has been as a screenwriter, working consistently as a scriptdoctor, teaching screenwriting at Southern Cross University and writing two feature screenplays a year for various production companies. He has a swathe of feature film projects in the pipeline such as... In December 2008 he finished his second feature as a writer/producer/director Bad Bush www.badbushthemovie.com And currently he is gearing up for the production of a feature film called 'King of the Mountain' which he wrote and will direct. Teaming up with producers Martin Brown, Bill Leimbach, Mark Tesoriero & Tom Kennedy, the film is set in Bathurst, the home of Australian motorsport and is based loosely around a fictional 24 hour endurance race.
